主讲人简历：
Dr. Michael Hood is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, and Professor Emeritus at University of Queensland. He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the U.K. with two Bachelor of Science degrees: in Mechanical Engineering in 1971 and in Mining Engineering in 1973. He got doctoral degree at the University of Witwatersrand in 1978. He served successfully as an assistant professor of UC Berkeley，Senior Research Fellow in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Senior Research Associate in Flow Research, Inc., Founder and Chairman of the Board in Mining and Construction Technologies Inc., head and professor of mining engineering in Queensland university, and Chief Executive Officer at Cooperative Research Centre for Mining Technology and Equipment (CMTE). He has published more than 25 papers in refereed archival journals and more than 50 other papers at conferences. His research interest is Mechanical excavation and high pressure water erosion of rock-drilling and rock cutting and Rock mechanics.
