题目：Teaching Computer-Aided Mine Design in Mining Engineering Curriculum计算机辅助教学矿山开采工程课程设计

    Mine planning and design in today’s industry is heavily dependent on computer software. These software facilitate everything from resource estimation, geometric design (using CAD tools), production sequencing, to facilities location and layout design. Consequently, today’s mining engineering programs should train students in basic mining engineering skills as well as skills in computer-aided design.

    In this presentation, the speaker will present Missouri University of Science & Technology’s (Missouri S&T’s) experience trying to incorporate computer-aided mine design in their curriculum. He will present the initial curriculum revision in 2010 to incorporate computer-aided mine design and the revisions since then to improve on the curriculum. He will also discuss the specific instances of two courses: Surface Mine Design and Mine Design Project I. He will discuss the student learning outcomes, course design and approach, student assessment, and feedback from the students. The goal is to encourage discussion on how computer-aided mine design can be better incorporated into mining engineering curricula globally.

报告人简介：

    Dr. Kwame Awuah-Offei is an associate professor of mining engineering at Missouri University of Science & Technology. He is a registered professional engineer. He recently served as a mining engineering academic fellow for the US Securities & Exchange Commission. Dr. Awuah-Offei’s research interests include modeling, simulation and optimization for sustainable mining systems. He teaches various graduate and undergraduate mining engineering courses. He is a nationally active member of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), a member of the Society of Mining Professors, and a fellow of the West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum (WAIMM). He is a past chair of the SME Sustainable Development Committee.
