The laboratory also hold the permanent and stable cooperation with domestic famous enterprises, universities and research institutes, including, Sichuan Coal Industry Group, Chongqing Energy Investment Group, Pingmei Group, Liuzhi Industrial Mining Group, Peking University, China University of Mining and Technology, Coal Science Research Center Chongqing Institute, Wuhan Soil and Rock Dynamics Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and have jointly undertaken a number of major national research tasks.

In the last five years, the laboratory has hosted 13 international academic conferences in which more than 82 personnel have participated and sponsored 2 domestic conferences, 4 co-conferences, with participants over 60. Besides, the laboratory has invited over 30 international eminent scholars, such as the well-known international mining engineering experts of the Australian Prof. Michael Hood and Prof. Hal Gurgend, Japanese Prof. Shiga Yoshihide of Kagoshima University, Indian Prof. Shankar Gargh of University of Indroe, Prof. Michael A. Urban of University of Missouri from USA, Norwegian Prof. Mr.Per I.Maudal of the president of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Canadian Prof. Ru Chongqing of University of Alberta, to visit and give lectures to the laboratory. The laboratory also sponsored 20 researchers to study abroad. 

Since the laboratory construction in 2011, 12.7 million Yuan with 82 projects were funded (open topic 37 items, independent study 45 items).

The laboratory invited 15 academicians of Chinese engineering, such as Prof. Xie Heping, researcher Gu Jincai, Prof. Zhang Tiegang, Prof. Zhou Shining, Prof. Gu Desheng, Prof. Luo Pingya, Prof. Peng Suping and Prof. Yuan Liang, to pay a visit to school and held academic lectures and exchanges.
